Leis na leasuithe ar Iarscríbhinní 1 agus 4 a ghabhann le Coinbhinsiún AFS, d’áiritheofaí go mbeadh toirmeasc domhanda ann ar an tsubstaint frithsmálaithe, ciobúitrín, substaint a bhfuil sé toirmiscthe cheana féin í a dhíol agus a úsáid laistigh den Aontas.

The amendments to Annexes 1 and 4 to the AFS Convention would ensure a global ban on the anti-fouling substance cybutryne, the sale and the use of which are already banned in the Union.

Is iomchuí an seasamh atá le glacadh thar ceann an Aontais le linn MEPC 76 a bhunú toisc go bhfuil ar cumas na leasuithe ar Iarscríbhinní 1 agus 4 a ghabhann le Coinbhinsiún AFS tionchar cinntitheach a imirt ar a bhfuil i reachtaíocht an Aontais, eadhon i Rialachán (AE) Uimh. 528/2012 ó Pharlaimint na hEorpa agus ón gComhairle.

It is appropriate to establish the position to be taken on the Union’s behalf during MEPC 76, as the amendments to Annexes 1 and 4 to the AFS Convention are capable of decisively influencing the content of Union law, namely Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
