The Protocol integrating the Schengen acquis into the framework of the European Union shall be amended as follows:

i mír 1, cuirtear ‘… atá folaithe leis an gCuid seo’ in ionad ‘… faoi fhorálacha Theideal IV den Chonradh ag bunú an Chomhphobail Eorpaigh’ agus cuirtear ‘na Ballstáit eile a mbeidh an beart ina cheangal orthu’ in ionad ‘na Ballstáit eile dá dtagraítear in Airteagal 1 den Phrótacal ag lánpháirtiú acquis Schengen i gcreat an Aontais Eorpaigh agus idir í agus Éire nó an Ríocht Aontaithe má bhíonn na Ballstáit sin rannpháirteach sna réimsí comhair i gceist’;
in paragraph 1, the words ‘under the provisions of Title IV of the Treaty establishing the European Community’ shall be replaced by ‘covered by this Part’ and the words ‘Member States referred to in Article 1 of the Protocol integrating the Schengen acquis into the framework of the European Union as well as Ireland or the United Kingdom if those Member States take part in the areas of cooperation in question’ shall be replaced by ‘Member States bound by the measure’;

I gcomhréir le hAirteagal 4 agus le hAirteagal 5 den Phrótacal maidir le acquis Schengen a lánpháirtiú i gcreat an Aontais Eorpaigh agus le Cinneadh 2000/365/CE ón gComhairle an 29 Bealtaine 2000 maidir leis an iarraidh ó Ríocht Aontaithe na Breataine Móire agus Thuaisceart Éireann, agus Cinneadh 2002/192/CE ón gComhairle an 28 Feabhra 2002 maidir leis an iarraidh ó Éirinn a bheith rannpháirteach i roinnt forálacha de acquis Schengen, níl an Ríocht Aontaithe ná Éire rannpháirteach i Rialachán (AE) Uimh. 2016/399 (Cód Teorainneacha Schengen) ná in aon ionstraimí reachtacha eile ar a dtugtar "acquis Schengen" de ghnáth, eadhon na hionstraimí reachtacha lena neagraítear agus lena dtacaítear le díothú rialuithe ag na teorainneacha inmheánacha agus leis na bearta tionlacain maidir le rialuithe ag teorainneacha seachtracha.
In accordance with Articles 4 and 5 of the Protocol integrating the Schengen acquis into the framework of the European Union and Council Decision 2000/365/EC of 29 May 2000 concerning the request of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Council Decision 2002/192/EC of 28 February 2002 concerning Ireland's request to take part in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis, the United Kingdom and Ireland do not take part in Regulation (EU) 2016/399 (Schengen Borders Code) nor in any other of the legal instruments which are commonly known as the "Schengen acquis", viz. the legal instruments organising and supporting the abolition of controls at internal borders and the flanking measures regarding the controls at external borders.
