    13.1 A member whose membership ceases because of redundancy and who is not eligible to receive a pension and/or gratuity or a preserved pension and/or a preserved gratuity under this Scheme or to transfer his pensionable service under the provisions of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1963 or the local government (Superannuation) Act, 1956 or to a pension scheme approved by the Revenue Commissioners to which a transfer value is paid shall have all his contributions, plus compound interest at 3 per cent per annum with half-yearly rests, paid to him less an amount equal to any income tax liability by the Board in respect of such benefit.

    (3) Mura gcomhaontóidh na páirtithe a mhalairt, féadfaidh an t-eadránaí nó an moltóir ús simplí nó ús iolraithe a dhámhachtain ó dháta na dámhachtana (nó aon dáta is déanaí ná sin) go dtí an data íoca, de réir na rátaí agus maille leis na fuílligh a mheasann sé nó sí a fhreagraíonn do cheartas an cháis, ar mhéid neamhíoctha aon dámhachtana (lena n-áirítear dámhachtain úis faoi fho-alt (2) agus dámhachtain costas).

    (3) Unless otherwise agreed by the parties, the arbitrator or umpire may award simple or compound interest from the date of the award (or any later date) until payment, at the rates and with the rests that he or she considers meet the justice of the case, on the outstanding amount of any award (including an award of interest under subsection (2) and an award of costs).

    70.— When and so soon as the whole of the money borrowed and to be borrowed as aforesaid shall have been paid off and discharged as aforesaid, and subject to the payment of the expenses of or in anywise incident to the working, management and maintenance of the said harbour and works, and to such payments and contributions as the Commissioners are by section 9 of the Dundalk Pilotage Order, 1920 authorised to make, the Commissioners may yearly and in every year set apart and appropriate out of their revenue such a sum not exceeding £1,000 per annum as they shall think fit and shall accumulate the same at compound interest until the sum so set apart and appropriated and the accumulations thereof shall amount to the principal sum of £10,000, and the sums so set apart, appropriated and accumulated shall be invested in government securities of Saorstát Eireann in the name of the Commissioners, and such sum and the accumulations thereof and the interest thereof shall be held and applied by the Commissioners as circumstances may from time to time require in and for the purpose of extraordinary repairs of the harbour and works connected therewith, or other extraordinary expenses incident to the management improvement and extension of the said harbour and the works connected therewith.

    50.—The Commissioners may if they think fit and with the consent in writing of the Minister first had and obtained for the purpose of forming and maintaining a contingency fund to meet any extraordinary claim or demand or any unforeseen accident or extraordinary damage which may happen or be caused to the works appropriate and set apart subject to the provisions of this Order as to application of revenue any amount which they think fit out of the revenue received under this Order and shall deposit any such amount in some joint stock bank or bank operating under a Charter to be increased by accumulation in the way of compound interest or otherwise or shall invest the same in securities upon which trust moneys may be invested until required for any of the purposes aforesaid.

    "(7) ( a ) Notwithstanding anything contained in the foregoing provisions of this section, a scheme amending the manual workers superannuation scheme may provide that if, in respect of any superannuation benefit provided by virtue of any amendment under this Act of the manual workers superannuation scheme, a contributor who was in the employment of the Board on the 1st day of April, 1943, does not pay to the fund set up for the purposes of the manual workers superannuation scheme contributions in respect of that part of his subsequent service beginning on the date of his election under subsection (4) of this section and ending on the date of payment of his first contribution in respect of that benefit, the Board shall pay to the said fund appropriate contributions (with compound interest) in respect of that part of that contributor's subsequent service and that contributor shall (save as is otherwise provided in this section) be entitled to reckon for that superannuation benefit one half and no more of that part of his subsequent service.
