- Nóta Following the adoption of Directive 2014/41/EU regarding the European Investigation Order in criminal matters, the Framework Decision on the European Evidence Warrant, which had a more limited scope, was repealed in January 2016 by Regulation (EU) 2016/95 repealing certain acts in the field of police cooperation and judicial cooperation in criminal matters.The European Evidence Warrant was replaced by the 'European Investigation Order', which also covers the freezing of property and evidence.Any European evidence warrant executed under Framework Decision 2008/978/JHA continues to be governed by that Framework Decision until the relevant criminal proceedings have been concluded with a definitive decision.
