- Sainmhíniú document containing the contract between the owner of a ship and the demise charter, and signed by both, in which are all the terms and conditions such as the period of the charter, the rate of hire, the trading limits and all the rights and responsibilities of the two parties ; contract by which the lessor (shipowner) places a ship in the hands of the lessee (the demise charterer) who assumes possession and control.
