    Comment L'amortissement est la constatation comptable de la dépréciation irréversible d'un poste de l'actif du bilan pour des raisons techniques (usure) ou économiques (obsolescence) et consiste à étaler dans le temps la différence entre le coût d'achat du bien et son prix probable de revente. L'amortissement fait donc référence au coût supporté pour acquérir un bien, alors que la dépréciation désigne la constatation de la perte de valeur de l'actif dans la comptabilité de l'entreprise. Souvent les amortissements sont portés au passif du bilan sous forme de postes correctifs.
