    Comment COVID-19 context: Among the possible consequences of the economic shock caused by the COVID-19 health emergency is an increased potential risk to strategic industries, in particular but not limited to healthcare-related industries. To ensure that these industries remain resilient and retain their capacity to respond to the needs of EU citizens, the European Commission called on Member States that currently do not have a screening mechanism, or whose screening mechanisms do not cover all relevant transactions, to set up a full-fledged screening mechanism.
