    Comment This programme was a follow-up to the earlier Altener programme (1993-1997) ( IATE:1173045 ). It was established by Decision 98/352/EC ( CELEX:31998D0352/EN ), which referred to it as Alterner II , but this Decision was repealed and replaced by Decision No 646/2000/EC ( CELEX:32000D0646/EN ), which makes the programme part of the multiannual framework programme for actions in the energy sector (1998 to 2002) adopted by Decision 1999/21/EC, Euratom ( CELEX:31999D0021/EN ) and reverts to the original name (Altener, without the suffix 'II').
