    Comment Conformément à son article 95, cet accord peut être révisé tous les cinq ans (à l'exception des dispositions concernant la coopération économique et commerciale). Une première révision a été signée au Luxembourg par l'UE et 76 pays ACP le 25 juin 2005 IATE:2215548 Une deuxième révision a été signée à Ouagadougou le 23 juin 2010 IATE:3527226 .L'accord de Cotonou devait expirer en 2020, mais son application a été prorogée jusqu'au 30 juin 2023 ou jusqu'à l’entrée en vigueur de l'accord de partenariat OEACP-UE ou à l'application provisoire de ce dernier, la date la plus proche étant retenue.

L'application de son prédécesseur, l'accord de Cotonou, a été prorogée jusqu'au 30 juin 2023 ou jusqu'à l'entrée en vigueur du nouvel accord (accord post-Cotonou) ou à l'application provisoire de ce dernier, la date la plus proche étant retenue. Le Conseil arrête les mesures transitoires nécessaires jusqu'à l'entrée en vigueur du nouvel accord.
