Le mír 2(a) d’Airteagal XI de Chomhaontú Ginearálta 1994 um Tharaifí agus Trádáil (GATT 1947), ceadaítear do Chomhaltaí EDT toirmisc nó srianta onnmhairiúcháin a chur i bhfeidhm go sealadach faoi chúinsí sonracha, chun ganntanais chriticiúla earraí bia nó táirgí eile atá fíor-riachtanach dóibh a chosc nó faoiseamh a thabhairt ina leith.
Paragraph 2(a) of Article XI of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1947 (GATT 1947) permits WTO Members to apply export prohibitions or restrictions temporarily, under specific circumstances, to prevent or relieve critical shortages of foodstuffs or other products essential to them.
