    The implementation of this Regulation does not affect the division of competence between the Union and the Member States under the Treaties, or the obligations of Member States under international conventions such as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue, the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, and other relevant international maritime instruments.

    ciallaíonn “Coinbhinsiún STCW” an Coinbhinsiún Idirnáisiúnta maidir le Caighdeáin Oiliúna, Deimhniúcháin agus Faire do Mharaithe, 1978 den IMO, de réir mar atá feidhm aige maidir leis na hábhair lena mbaineann agus forálacha idirthréimhseacha Airteagal VII agus Rialachán I/15 den Choinbhinsiún á gcur san áireamh agus lena n-áirítear, i gcás inarb iomchuí, forálacha infheidhme Chód STCW, agus iad uile á gcur i bhfeidhm ina leaganacha cothrom le dáta;

    ‘STCW Convention’ means the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 of the IMO, as it applies to the matters concerned taking into account the transitional provisions of Article VII and Regulation I/15 of the Convention and including, where appropriate, the applicable provisions of the STCW Code, all being applied in their up-to-date versions;
