- Nóta Distinction entre arme chimique et agent chimiquePour les armes chimiques, il est d'usage de faire la distinction entre la substance seule (agent chimique) et l'arme constituée de la substance et de son contenant de livraison mais ce n'est valable qu'en temps de paix (non-utilisation) et pour le décompte des stocks ou pour les considérations sur les produits à double usage (chlore, etc.) industriel et militaire. Toutefois, tout agent chimique devient une arme dès l'instant où il est utilisé à des fins destructrices ou juste incapacitantes ; mais avec une marge de tolérance pour le "maintien de l'ordre public" et si c'est fait dans des doses totalement compatibles avec la survie des personnes ou animaux présents.
