- Comment The Cohesion Fund is aimed at Member States whose gross national income (GNI) per inhabitant is less than 90% of the EU average. It aims to reduce economic and social disparities and to promote sustainable development.It was originally established by Regulation (EC) No 1164/94, which was repealed (with effect from 1 January 2007) and replaced by Regulation (EC) No 1084/2006, which was in turn repealed (with effect from 1 January 2014) and replaced by Regulation (EU) No 1300/2013.

- Comment Institué à l'origine par le règlement (CE) n° 1164/94, qui a été abrogé par le règlement (CE) n° 1084/2006, à son tour abrogé par le règlement (UE) n° 1300/2013, ce Fonds aide les États membres dont le revenu national brut (RNB) est inférieur à 90 % de la moyenne de l'UE (à savoir, pour la période 2014-2020, la Bulgarie, Chypre, la Croatie, l'Estonie, la Grèce, la Hongrie, la Lettonie, la Lituanie, Malte, la Pologne, le Portugal, la République tchèque, la Roumanie, la Slovaquie et la Slovénie). Ce Fonds et le Fonds européen de développement régional (FEDER) constituent les deux principaux Fonds de la politique régionale. Avec le Fonds social européen (FSE), le Fonds européen agricole pour le développement rural (FEADER) et le Fonds européen pour les affaires maritimes et la pêche (FEAMP), ils forment les Fonds structurels et d’investissement européens (Fonds ESI).
