    Definition Peace agreement signed on 14 September 1991 by 26 organisations, including political leaders, trade unions, security forces, business, industry and churches with a view to ending political violence in South Africa. Not a cease-fire agreement but a document in which the role-players committed themselves to peaceful negotiation in the period leading up to the first truly democratic election in April 1994.
