    Nóta Le 27 février 2008, le Conseil de coopération régionale [IATE:2244997 ] lui a officiellement succédé.Voir aussi: Processus de coopération en Europe du Sud-Est (SEECP) [IATE:913400 ]Destiné à coordonner les acteurs et programmes impliqués dans les Balkans (UE, OTAN, OSCE, FMI, Banque mondiale, pays donateurs et ONG), le Pacte était ouvert à tous les pays de l'Europe du Sud-Est, à l'exception de la République fédérale de Yougoslavie dirigée à l'époque par Slobodan Milosevic et composée de la Serbie et du Monténégro.Il est plutôt question désormais de renforcer le rôle de la société civile et de soutenir le développement économique qui s'est amorcé depuis plusieurs années entre les pays de la région.
