    Comment Les AGE ont été mis en place en 1962, lorsque les gouvernements de huit États membres du FMI — Belgique, Canada, États-Unis, France, Italie, Japon, Pays-Bas, Royaume-Uni — et les banques centrales de deux autres, l'Allemagne et la Suède, sont convenus de mettre des ressources à la disposition du FMI pour permettre aux participants et, dans certaines conditions, à des non-participants, d'effectuer des tirages. Les AGE ont été renforcés en 1964 avec l'association de la Suisse, qui n'était pas encore membre du FMI, mais l'appellation G-10 n'a pas changé. En 1997, les AGE ont été complétés par les Nouveaux accords d'emprunt (NAE).Les organisations internationales suivantes ont le statut d'observateurs officiels dans le cadre des activités du G-10 : Banque des règlements internationaux (BRI), Commission européenne, FMI et OCDE.
