    Comment Brewing of beer. The mash is subsequently filtered, resulting in solid residues called "brewer's grains" ( IATE:806705 ) and a liquid - the "wort" -containing the fermentable sugars derived from the malt in solution. The wort is subsequently fermented to produce beer.
