- Comment Cocaine is sold in various forms:- Cocaine paste1 is obtained by mixing the leaves with sodium bicarbonate and water. It is sold on the streets of South America and is generally smoked. Of the three forms of cocaine described here, paste is the least pure. - The salt form of cocaine, cocaine hydrochloride, is a fine, white crystalline powder.
