    Nóta Auch wenn die Begriffe Wald und Forst häufig synonym verwendet werden, gibt es einen grundsätzlichen Unterschied: Forst besteht aus einer Pflanzung (Aufforstung), im Wald gibt es stattdessen die unterschiedlichsten Phasen der Vegetationsentwicklung (Sukzession).     Nóta Il existe plusieurs classifications de la biomasse: - dans une classification selon la provenance, la "biomasse forestière" s'oppose par exemple à la biomasse agricole, planctonique ou halieutique. - Une autre classification distingue la biomasse (énergie) de la biomasse (écologie). - Selon la directive 2009/28/CE relative à l'énergie produite à partir de sources renouvelables, la biomasse (sylvicole) serait la fraction biodégradable des produits, des déchets et des résidus d'origine biologique provenant de la sylviculture.
