Cóip statach de shonraí a easpórtáiltear ó IATE ó am go chéile atá sa chnuasach seo. Níor cheart glacadh leis gurb ionann i gcónaí an t-eolas a thugtar faoi iontráil anseo agus a bhfuil sa leagan reatha den iontráil ar IATE. Is féidir an leagan reatha sin a cheadú ach cliceáil ar an nasc atá ar thaobh na láimhe deise ag barr gach iontrála. Breis eolais »

Sainmhíniú the phenomenon during which the electrons of the atoms can be promoted to higher orbitals for a short amount of time by absorbing a set quantity of energy (i.e. light of a given wavelength). This amount of energy (or wavelength) is specific to a particular electron transition in a particular element, and in general, each wavelength corresponds to only one element. Tagairt Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_absorption_spectroscopy [21.10.2009]
Nóta As the quantity of energy (the power) put into the flame is known, and the quantity remaining at the other side (at the detector) can be measured, it is possible, from Beer-Lambert law, to calculate how many of these transitions took place, and thus get a signal that is proportional to the concentration of the element being measured.

Nóta Die AAS beruht darauf, dass Atome im Dampfzustand in der Lage sind, Licht bestimmter Wellenlänge oder Wellenzahl zu absorbieren, wodurch die Intensität des durchtretenden Lichtes geschwächt wird.Quelle: Perkampus, Heinz-Helmut , "Lexikon Spektroskopie" , VCH, Weinheim, 1993, ISBN 3-527-28303-X , S. 25.
