Definition continuous process for the production of hydrogen-rich synthetic gas from liquid hydrocarbons Reference COM-EN, based on:- Speight, J.G., 'Gasification processes for syngas and hydrogen production' (11.12.2020), Gasification for Synthetic Fuel Production, CD&W, 2015, pp. 135 - 136- Melo, Morlanés, 'Naphtha steam reforming for hydrogen production' (11.12.2020), Catalysis Today 107-108 (2005) pp. 458 - 466
Comment A variety of naphtha-types in the gasoline boiling range may be employed. Thus, following pre-treatment to remove sulfur compounds, the feedstock is mixed with steam and taken to the reforming furnace (675 to 815?C, 1250 to 1500?F, 300 psi) where hydrogen is produced.
