- Nóta Originated in 1975 through informal summit meetings of the countries' leaders. Russia belonged to the forum from 1998 to 2014 – then the Group of Eight (G8) – but was suspended after its annexation of Crimea in March 2014. The European Union has participated fully in the G7 since 1981 as a 'nonenumerated' member. It is represented by the presidents of the European Council and the European Commission.

- Nóta En 1998, la Russie participe aux sommets du groupe qui est rebaptisé " G8". En 2014, à la suite de la crise ukrainienne, la Russie est exclue du G8 qui redevient le G7. L’Union européenne est membre à part entière du G7 et participe à ses travaux à tous les niveaux. Depuis l’entrée en vigueur du traité de Lisbonne, l’UE est représentée à la fois par le président de la Commission et par le président du Conseil européen.
