- Comment Until 31 December 2012, cases were heard in the first instance by local courts (helyi bíróság), but as of 1 January 2013 first instance courts are called district courts (járásbíróság). District courts in the capital Budapest are known by the name kerületi bíróság, while those outside the capital are called járásbíróság (formerly városi bíróság).
