Comment It is a measure of a statistical estimate's reliability obtained by dividing the standard error by the estimate; then multiplied by 100 to be expressed as a percent. In analytical chemistry is widely used for comparing the uncertainty between different measurements of varying absolute magnitude. It can be calculated with the formula: sr = s/x ̄

Definition the value of the relative standard deviation ( IATE:1748226 ), expressed in percent. It can be calculated from the relative standard deviation by multiplying by 100 Reference IUPAC. Comment It is recommended that the 'relative standard deviation' be reported, rather than the 'percentage standard deviation', in order to avoid confusion where results themselves are expressed as percentages. The term 'coefficient of variation' in place of 'relative standard deviation' is not recommended.
