    Nóta Cette fonction est commune à toutes les institutions et organes de l’UE. Les délégués à la protection des données sont désignés pour une période de 3 à 5 ans. Leur mandat est renouvelable. Ils sont assistés par un délégué adjoint à la protection des données. Les missions des délégués à la protection des données sont énumérées à l’article 45 du règlement général de protection des données (21.1.2020). Le Contrôleur européen de la protection des données(CEPD) est l’autorité de contrôle sur le rôle joué par les DPD dans les institutions de l’UE. Le CEPD dispose lui aussi d’un DPD.
