    Nóta A legally-constituted group of farmers and growers. Producer organisations assist in the distribution and marketing of products. They also promote a higher quality of products and encourage their members to adopt good environmental practices. Producer organisations have been legally encouraged since 2001 in the fruit and vegetable sector, and since 2011 in the milk sector. (see Milk Package).Since the 2013 reform of the Common Agricultural Policy, producer organisations are now encouraged in all sectors. Producer organisations can group themselves into associations of producer organisations and into inter-branch organisations.Not to be confused with 'producer group'. Producer organisations are those recognised under Regulation 1308/2013, while Member States are free to set the criteria for the recognition of producer groups.

Depuis la réforme de la PAC de 2013, les organisations de producteurs sont encouragées dans tous les secteurs afin de donner aux producteurs les moyens de renforcer leur position au sein de la chaîne agro-alimentaire en leur permettant de concentrer leur production et de promouvoir de meilleures pratiques agricoles. Elles peuvent se regrouper en associations d'organisations de producteurs ou en organisations interprofessionnelles.2. Ne pas confondre avec les groupements de producteurs qui ne répondent pas aux mêmes critères et ne disposent pas du même statut, mais qui peuvent constituer un stade préalable à la constitution d’organisations de producteurs.
