Il ressemble au papier sulfurisé, mais il présente une moindre résistance à l'eau.Le papier sulfurisé et le papier ingraissable sont souvent rendus plus souples et plus translucides par un apprêt léger au glycérol, au glucose, etc., au cours du finissage.
