    The Office of Public Works has told Nuacht RTÉ that there is no evident threat to the National Monument site at Dún Aonghasa on Inis Mór, Árainn at this stage, following the landslide at Bun Gabhla on the island reported earlier this week.

    The original house of the renowned Great Blasket Island writer Tomás Ó Criomhthain has been restored by the Office of Public Works and is now open to the public.  The OPW said the aim was to "provide an authentic visitor experience and bring to life the harsh living conditions endured by the local community before the island was finally abandoned by the 22 remaining inhabitants in 1953".
