1. —Ní bunófar aon aicsean ná aon imeacht eile dlí ar bith, síbhialta ná coiriúil, in aon Chúirt dlí ná cothruim i Saorstát Éireann i gcoinnibh aon duine a‘los ná i dtaobh ná i leith aon ghníomha, ruda ná ní a dineadh tar éis an 23adh lá d'Abrán, 1916, agus roimh dáta rithte an Achta so, ag aon duine no fé údarás aon duine a bhí, le linn déanamh an ghníomha no an ruda no an ní, i seilbh aon oifige no ag obair i seirbhís d'aon tsaghas fén gCoróinn Bhriotáineach no fén Rialtas Briotáineach, pe'ca seirbhís chabhlaigh, airm, aer-fhórsa, phóilíneachta no shíbhialta í, má dineadh no gur tuigeadh go macánta gur dineadh an gníomh no an rud no an ní sin i bhfeidhmiú dualgais an te a dhin é, no i gcleachta no i bhfeidhmiú aon údaráis a bronnadh le haon reacht de Pháirlimint na Breataine no le haon ordú reachtúil no aon ordú eile den Rialtas Briotáineach ar an duine sin no ar an té gur fé n-a údarás a bhí an duine sin ag gníomhú, no má tuigeadh go macánta gur dineadh é chun an fhuirm rialtais a bhí in Éirinn an uair sin do chimeád suas no chun na sábháltachta publí no chun an leasa phuiblí ar aon tslí eile:
1.— No action or other legal proceeding whatsoever whether civil or criminal shall be instituted in any Court of law or equity in Saorstát Eireann against any person for or on account of or in respect of any act, matter or thing done after the 23rd day of April, 1916, and before the date of the passing of this Act, by any person or under the authority of any person who, at the time when the act, matter or thing was done, held any office under or was employed in the service of the British Crown or the British Government in any capacity, whether naval, military, air-force, police or civil, provided such act, matter or thing was done or in good faith purported to be done in execution of the duty of the person doing the same, or in exercise or execution of any authority conferred on such person or on the person under whose authority such person was acting by any statute of the British Parliament or any statutory or other order of the British Government, or was in good faith purported to be done for the maintenance of the then existing form of government in Ireland, or for the public safety or otherwise in the public interest:
