(2) ( a ) A committee of agriculture may by resolution decide that, in lieu of defraying, under section 2 of the Act of 1944, the expenses of locomotion incurred by each of the members of such committee of agriculture or of an approved sub-committee of such committee of agriculture in travelling to and from the meetings, of such committee or approved sub-committee, held after the passing of this Act, such committee shall pay to each such member, in respect of every such meeting which he attends at a place not less than five miles by any route from his ordinary place of residence, a fixed sum for every mile travelled between such place and such residence measured along the route by which such member would normally travel.

(6) ( a ) A credit union shall not make a loan to a person who is a member of its board of directors, Membership Committee, Supervisory Committee or Credit Committee except with the unanimous approval by secret ballot of a special committee present when the loan is considered, which special committee shall consist of a majority of the board of directors, a majority of the Credit Committee (if any) and at least one member of the Supervisory Committee, but shall not include the applicant for the loan.

—Every person who at the date of the abolition of a committee of a county infirmary or a county fever hospital (whether before or after the passing of this Act) under or in pursuance of section 7 of the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1923 , was or shall have been an officer of that committee, and, except in the case of a medical officer, devoted the whole of his time to the service of the committee, if his period of service under such committee was, or shall have been, not less than ten years, shall have the same rights to receive an allowance from the county or county borough council or councils to which or to a committee of which the functions of the committee aforesaid have been transferred on its abolition as he would have under this Act if he were a pensionable officer of a committee or joint committee of the said council or councils and had held office thereunder for a period equal to his period of service under the committee aforesaid, and had been removed from such office for a cause other than misconduct or incapacity.

—No member of the Committee shall be disqualified by his office from entering into any contract with the Committee or from being concerned or interested in any contract under the Committee nor shall any contract or arrangement entered into by or on behalf of the Committee in which any member thereof shall be in any way concerned or interested be avoided, nor shall any person so contracting or being so concerned or interested be disqualified from being chosen or continuing or acting as a member of the Committee or be liable to account to the Committee for any profit realised by any such contract or arrangement by reason of holding that office or of the fiduciary relation thereby established provided that the nature of his interest is disclosed at the meeting of the Committee at which the contract or arrangement is determined on, if his interest then exists or in any other case at the first meeting of the Committee after the acquisition of his interest, but a member of the Committee may not as such member vote in respect of any such contract or arrangement in which he is so concerned or interested as aforesaid.
