(2) The provisions of section 6 of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1944 (No. 9 of 1944) (which section relates to fixing of age limits for offices under a vocational education committee) shall apply in relation to the employment of an established servant of a vocational education committee as if such employment were an office.

( b ) This subsection shall be deemed to have come into operation on the passing of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1944 , and every declaration made before the passing of this Act and framed as a declaration under that section shall be, and be deemed always to have been, as valid as if this section had then come into operation.

(2) Section 3 of the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1944 , and section 2 of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1944 (which sections apply the said Article 12 (4) (a) to committees, of agriculture and vocational education committees, respectively), shall have effect as if the references therein to Article 12 of the said Schedule as amended by any subsequent enactment were references to the said Article 12 as amended by any subsequent enactment including subsection (1) of this section.

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE ORGANISATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL TECHNICAL AND OTHER COLLEGES, TO DEFINE THEIR FUNCTIONS, AND TO MODIFY THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 7 of THE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1944 , AND TO PROVIDE FOR OTHER MATTERS CONNECTED WITH THE FOREGOING.

(9) The provisions of sections 105 of the Vocational Education Act, 1930 , and sections 7 of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1944 , shall apply to officers of a college with the substitution of references to the college for references to the vocational education committee.

—(1) D'ainneoin fhorálacha fho-alt (5) d'alt 7 den Acht Gairm-Oideachais (Leasú), 1944 , aon uair a fhionrófar oifigeach de chuid coiste gairmoideachais faoi alt 7 den Acht sin féadfaidh an coiste, más cuí leis, le toiliú an Aire íocaíochtaí ex-gratia a dhéanamh leis an oifigeach a bheidh ar fionraí in ionad an luach saothair a bheadh iníoctha, murach an fhionraí sin, leis an oifigeach sin.
—(1) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (5) of section 7 of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 1944 , whenever an officer of a vocational education committee is suspended under section 7 of that Act the committee may, if it thinks fit, make with the consent of the Minister payments ex-gratia to the suspended officer in lieu of the remuneration which, but for that suspension, would have been payable to that officer.
