Tháinig an tÚdarás ar an gconclúid nach ábhar imní sábháilteachta don tomhaltóir é N,N-bis(2-hiodrocsa-eitil)stéarolaimín nuair a úsáidtear é suas le 2 % (meáchan/meáchan) i ngach polaiméir nach bhfuil beartaithe lena dteacht i dteagmháil ach le bianna tirime, ar choinníoll maidir le hascnamh suim N,N-bis(2-hiodrocsaitil)stéaraimín agus a mhona-eistear agus a dhé-eistear, arna ríomh mar N,N-bis(2-hiodrocsa-eitil)stéaraimín, nach sáraíonn an t-ascnamh SML(T) i gcás substaintí Uimh. FCM 19 agus 20, ina raibh, de réir an Údaráis, ascnamh mona-eistear agus dé-eistear N,N-bis(2-hiodrocsaeitil)stéaralaimín le háireamh freisin.

The Authority concluded that N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)stearylamine is not a safety concern for the consumer when used at up to 2 % (w/w) in all polymers intended for contact only with dry foods, provided that the migration of the sum of N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)stearylamine and its mono- and di-ester, calculated as N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)stearylamine, does not exceed, the SML(T) for FCM substances No 19 and 20, in which according to the Authority the migration of the mono- and di-ester of N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)stearylamine was also to be included.

Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1442 of 11 July 2023 amending Annex I to Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, as regards changes to substance authorisations and addition of new substances (Text with EEA relevance)

Táirgtear trí aigéad tartrach (E 334) a eistearú le halcól stéaraile. Is é atá ann, den chuid is mó, an dé-eistear maraon le mionmhéideanna de mhonai-eistear, d'aigéad tartrach, agus d'alcól stéaraile saor.

Produced by the esterification of tartaric acid (E 334) with stearyl alcohol, consisting chiefly of the di-ester with minor amounts of mono-ester, tartaric acid and free stearyl alcohol.
