—(1) Aon uair agus a mhinicí is dóigh leis an Rialtas imthosca neamhghnáthacha a bheith ann nó gur dóigh dhóibh a bheith ann maidir le soláthar nó imdháil gáis, féadfaidh an Rialtas, le hordú, a dhearbhú go bhfuil staid éigeandála ann maidir le soláthar nó imdháil gáis.
—(1) Whenever and so often as the Government are of opinion that abnormal circumstances prevail or are likely to prevail in relation to the supply or distribution of gas, the Government may by order declare that a state of emergency affecting the supply or distribution of gas exists.

The following form of industrial work, namely, the monitoring of gas flow in the distribution of gas as carried on at the premises of Bord Gais Éireann, Inchera, Little Island, in the county of Cork, is hereby declared to be excluded industrial work for the purposes of section 33 of the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936 (No. 2 of 1936).
