Ina theannta sin, chuir an Chomhairle i bhfios go láidir a thábhachtaí atá sé don Aontas dlúthpháirtíocht láidir a léiriú trí fhreagairt thapa chuimsitheach bunaithe ar iltaobhachas éifeachtach, ag tógáil ar an Teachtaireacht ón gCoimisiún an 23 Márta 2022 maidir le ‘Slándáil bia a áirithiú agus athléimneacht na gcóras bia a neartú’ agus ag tógáil ar na trí cholún – trádáil, dlúthpháirtíocht agus táirgeadh – de Mhisean Athléimneachta Bia agus Talmhaíochta (FARM), ar dhíol sásaimh don Chomhairle Eorpach é agus i gcomhréir go hiomlán le Grúpa Freagartha um Ghéarchéimeanna Domhanda de chuid na Náisiún Aontaithe (GCRG) agus tionscnaimh ábhartha idirnáisiúnta eile, go háirithe, leis an gComhaontas Domhanda don tSlándáil Bia a thionscain an G7.
In addition, the Council stressed the importance of the Union demonstrating strong solidarity through a swift and comprehensive response based on effective multilateralism, building on the Communication from the Commission of 23 March 2022 on ‘Safeguarding food security and reinforcing the resilience of food systems’ and building on the three pillars – trade, solidarity and production – of the Food and Agriculture Resilience Mission (FARM), as welcomed by the European Council and in full alignment with the United Nations Global Crisis Response Group (GCRG) and other relevant international initiatives, notably the G7-initiated Global Alliance for Food Security.
