I Rúin 2391 (2017) agus 2480 (2019) uaithi, dhearbhaigh Comhairle Slándála na Náisiún Aontaithe a tiomantas láidir do cheannasacht, do neamhspleáchas agus d’iomláine chríochach thíortha an Ghrúpa de Chúig thír na Saiheile (G5 na Saiheile), eadhon Buircíne Fasó, Sead, Mailí, an Mháratáin agus an Nígir; mhol an Chomhairle Slándála rannchuidiú na gcomhpháirtithe déthaobhacha agus iltaobhacha in acmhainneachtaí slándála sa tSaiheil a neartú, go háirithe an ról a bhíonn ag misin de chuid an Aontais Eorpaigh (EUTM Mali, EUCAP Sahel Mali agus EUCAP Sahel Niger) maidir leis an oiliúint agus leis an gcomhairle straitéiseach atá á gcur ar fáil d'fhórsaí slándála náisiúnta sa tSaiheil; ba dhíol sásaimh don Chomhairle Slándála na hiarrachtaí atá ar bun ag fórsaí na Fraince chun tacú le hoibríochtaí Fhórsa Comhpháirteach G5 na Saiheile agus d'iarr sí comhordú leordhóthanach, malartú faisnéise agus, nuair is infheidhme, tacaíocht a bheith ann idir MINUSMA, Fórsaí Armtha Mhailí, Fórsa Comhpháirteach G5 na Saiheile, Fórsaí na Fraince agus misin de chuid an Aontais Eorpaigh i Mailí.
In its Resolutions 2391 (2017) and 2480 (2019), the UN Security Council affirmed its strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the countries of the Group of Five for the Sahel (G5 Sahel), namely Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania and Niger, commended the contribution of bilateral and multilateral partners to strengthen security capacities in the Sahel region, notably the role of the European Union missions (EUTM Mali, EUCAP Sahel Mali and EUCAP Sahel Niger) in providing training and strategic advice to national security forces in the Sahel region, welcomed the efforts of the French forces to support the operations of the G5 Sahel Joint Force, and called for adequate coordination, exchange of information and, when applicable, support between MINUSMA, the Malian Armed Forces, the G5 Sahel Joint force, the French Forces and the European Union missions in Mali.
