    (a) Déanfar an meastachán géarthocsaineachta (ATE) maidir le haicmiú substainte nó comhábhair i meascán a dhíorthú trí úsáid a bhaint as na nithe seo a leanas:

    (a) The acute toxicity estimate (ATE) for the classification of a substance or ingredient in a mixture is derived using:

Maidir leis na comhábhair a thagann faoi réir na míre seo, meastar gur comhábhair iad a bhfuil a meastachán géarthocsaineachta ar eolas (ATE).

Ingredients that fall within the scope of this paragraph are considered to be ingredients with a known acute toxicity estimate (ATE).

    (b) nuair a úsáidtear meascán aicmithe mar chomhábhar i meascán eile, féadfar an meastachán géarthocsaineachta (ATE), iarbhír nó díorthaithe, don mheascán sin a úsáid le linn aicmiú an mheascáin nua a ríomh, agus úsáid á baint as na foirmlí i roinn 3.1.3.6.1 agus i mír 3.1.3.6.2.3.

    (b) where a classified mixture is used as an ingredient of another mixture, the actual or derived acute toxicity estimate (ATE) for that mixture may be used, when calculating the classification of the new mixture using the formulas in section 3.1.3.6.1 and paragraph 3.1.3.6.2.3.

D'fhonn a chinntiú go bhfuil aicmiú an mheascáin cruinn, agus nach gá an ríomh a dhéanamh ach uair amháin maidir le gach córas, earnáil agus catagóir, is mar seo a leanas a phléifear le meastachán géarthocsaineachta (ATE) comhábhar:

In order to ensure that classification of the mixture is accurate, and that the calculation need only be performed once for all systems, sectors, and categories, the acute toxicity estimate (ATE) of ingredients shall be considered as follows:

Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006

3.1.3.6.2.2. I gcás go n-úsáidfear comhábhar i meascán gan faisnéis inúsáidte ar bith leis, ag tiúchan 1 % nó níos mó, is é an tát a bhainfear as nach féidir meastachán cinnte géarthocsaineachta a lua leis an meascán.

3.1.3.6.2.2. In the event that an ingredient without any useable information at all is used in a mixture at a concentration of 1 % or greater, it is concluded that the mixture cannot be attributed a definitive acute toxicity estimate.
