(2) Ní fhorléireofar mír (1) den Airteagal seo mar ní a dhéanfaidh difear d'aon ghnáth-phinsean baintrí agus ghnáth-liúntas leanaí a deonaíodh roimh dhéanamh an Ordaithe seo.
(2) Paragraph (1) of this Article shall not be construed as affecting any widow's ordinary pension or any children's ordinary allowance which was granted before the making of this Order.

"children's ordinary allowance" means an allowance or gratuity, other than a children's special allowance, under Article 10 of the No. 2 Order of 1938, as amended by Article 39 of the Order of 1950 and Article 5 of the Garda Síochána Pensions Order, 1955 ( S.I. No. 115 of 1955 );

(1) Where a member who is serving in the Force on or after the 23rd day of July, 1968, becomes eligible to be insured under the Social Welfare Acts, whether during service in the Force or afterwards, entitlement to a widow's ordinary pension and a children's ordinary allowance shall cease in respect of his service.
(2) Beidh pinsean nó liúntas a dheonófar faoin Airteagal seo faoi réir na dtéarmaí agus na gcoinníollacha atá sna hOrduithe um Pinsin an Gharda Síochána, 1925 go 1976, ar an modh céanna is dá mba ghnáth-phinsean baintrí nó gnáth-liúntas leanaí é, de réir mar is iomchuí, ach faoi réir an choinníll go gcinnfear ráta an phinsin sin de réir na bhforálacha seo a leanas den Airteagal seo.
(2) A pension or allowance granted under this Article shall be subject to the terms and conditions contained in the Garda Síochána Pensions Orders, 1925 to 1976, in the same manner as if it were a widow's ordinary pension or a children's ordinary allowance, as may be appropriate, but subject to the proviso that the rate thereof shall be determined in accordance with the following provisions of this Article.
(I) Ní bheidh ráta aon ghnáth-phinsin baintrí nó aon ghnáth-liúntais leanaí is iníoctha maidir le comhalta a mbeidh feidhm ag an scéim nua ina leith níos mó ná an ráta is ísle ab iníoctha dá mba a ar chéim Garda a bheadh iomlán seirbhíse an chomhalta chuí.
(1) The rate of any widow's ordinary pension or children's ordinary allowance which may be payable as regards a member in respect of whom the new scheme applies shall not exceed the lowest rate that would be payable had all the relevant member's service been in the rank of Garda.
