“Ní fhéadfar an staidéar a tharscaoileadh ar bhonn comhéifeachta rannaí ísle ochtanól/uisce amháin, ach amháin sa chás ina bhfuil airíonna asúcháin na substainte bunaithe ar lipifíleacht amháin. Mar shampla, ní fhéadfar an staidéar a tharscaoileadh ar bhonn comhéifeachta rannaí ísle ochtanól/uisce amháin má tá an tsubstaint gníomhach ar an dromchla nó má éiríonn sí ianaithe ag pH timpeallachta (pH 4 – 9)”.

‘The study may not be waived on the basis of low octanol-water partition coefficient alone, unless the adsorptive properties of the substance are solely driven by lipophilicity. For instance, the study may not be waived on the basis of low octanol-water partition coefficient alone if the substance is surface active or ionisable at environmental pH (pH 4 – 9).’.

“Ní fhéadfar an staidéar a tharscaoileadh ar bhonn comhéifeachta rannaí ísle ochtanól/uisce amháin, ach amháin sa chás ina bhfuil an fhéidearthacht maidir le bithbhailiú na substainte bunaithe ar lipifíleacht amháin. Maidir le substaintí orgánacha, déanfar an acmhainn bhithbhailithe a aimsiú de ghnáth trí úsáid a bhaint as an gcomhéifeacht rannach ochtanól/uisce, a thuairiscítear de ghnáth mar log Kow.

For organic substances the potential for bioaccumulation shall normally be determined by using the octanol/water partition coefficient, usually reported as a log Kow.

Ba cheart Iarscríbhinn XI a ghabhann le Rialachán (CE) Uimh. 1907/2006 a leasú freisin ionas go n-eiseofar tarscaoileadh na staidéar ábhartha ar chinniúint agus ar iompar sa timpeallacht ar bhonn comhéifeachta rannaí ísle ochtanól/uisce, agus ar an mbonn sin amháin, i gcás nach iomchuí é sin.

Annex IX to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 should also be amended in order to exclude the waiving of conducting relevant studies on fate and behaviour in the environment on the sole basis of a low octanol water partition coefficient where this is not appropriate.

comhdhéanamh agus airíonna fisiciceimiceacha ceimiceán próisis (e.g. tuaslagthacht, galbhrú, comhéifeacht rannach n-Ochtanóil/uisce), lena n-áirítear airíonna a bhfuil éifeachtaí díobhálacha acu ar an gcomhshaol agus/nó ar shláinte an duine (e.g. éiceatocsaineacht, bith-indíbearthacht/in-bhithdhíghrádaitheacht).

the composition and physico-chemical properties of process chemicals (e.g. solubility, vapour pressure, n-octanol/water partition coefficient), including properties with adverse effects on the environment and/or human health (e.g. ecotoxicity, bioeliminability/biodegradability).

Teastaíonn faisnéis faoi airíonna fisiciceimiceacha eile freisin chun cinniúint an cheimiceáin nó an ábhair i gceist a shainaithint, meastachán a dhéanamh ar an nochtadh agus an chonair/na conairí nochta a shainaithint agus saintréithe riosca a thabhairt (e.g. airíonna amhail foirm fhisiceach an cheimiceáin nó an ábhair agus brú galuisce ábhartha le haghaidh sláinte an duine, tuaslagthacht uisce agus an chomhéifeacht rannach ochtánóil/uisce (Log Kow) ábhartha don chomhshaol).

Information about other physico-chemical properties is also needed to identify the fate of the chemical or material in question, estimate the exposure and identify the exposure pathway(s) and characterise risk (e.g., properties such as the chemical’s or material’s physical form and vapour pressure relevant for human health, or water solubility and the octanol water partition coefficient (Log Kow) relevant for the environment).
