(8) Urramaíonn an Rialachán seo na cearta bunúsacha a léirítear i gCairt um Chearta Bunúsacha an Aontais Eorpaigh agus cloíonn sé leis na prionsabail a léirítear ann agus cuirtear san áireamh freisin ann Coinbhinsiún Chomhairle na hEorpa maidir le Cosaint Ceart Daonna agus Dhínit an Duine i bhFeidhmiú na Bitheolaíochta agus na Liachta:
(8) This Regulation respects the fundamental rights and observes the principles reflected in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and also takes into account the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Dignity of the Human Being with regard to the Application of Biology and Medicine:
