(1) For the purposes of enabling any international convention or agreement for the protection of intellectual property or any other relevant international co-operation or agreement for the protection of intellectual property to which the State is a party to be carried into effect, the Government may by order declare one or more foreign countries, which foreign country, or each of which foreign countries, shall be one whose government or any of whose departments of state is a party to the convention or agreement, to be a Contracting Party for the purposes of this Act, and for so long as the order remains in force any foreign country which is one specified in the declaration contained therein shall be a Contracting Party for the purposes of this Act.

“‘the supplementary Agreement’ means the Agreement between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland constituted by the exchange of letters dated the 18th day of June, 1999, and the 18th day of June, 1999, the texts of which are set out in the Schedule to the British-Irish Agreement (Amendment) Act, 1999.”,

They agree that the Good Friday or Belfast Agreement reached on 10 April 1998 by the United Kingdom Government, the Irish Government and the other participants in the multi-party negotiations (the ‘1998 Agreement’) must be protected in all its parts, and that this extends to the practical application of the 1998 Agreement on the island of Ireland and to the totality of the relationships set out in the 1998 Agreement.

ANOIS có-aontuítear leis seo, fé réir an Pháirlimint Bhriotáineach agus Oireachtas Shaorstáit Éireann do dhaingniú an Chó-aontuithe seo, mara ndinidh Rialtas Tuaiscirt Éireann an Coimisinéir atá le ceapa amhlaidh ag an Rialtas san do cheapa roimh dháta rithte Achta na Páirliminte Briotáinighe no Acht Oireachtais Shaorstáit Éireann chun an Có-aontú so do dhaingniú, pe'ca dáta aca is déanaí, go n-aistreofar láithreach chun an Rialtais Bhriotáinigh, agus go bhfeidhmeoidh an Rialtas san láithreach, an chomhacht atá ag Rialtas Tuaiscirt Éireann chun an Coimisinéir sin do cheapa agus, chun crícheanna an Airtiogail sin, go dtuigfar gur Coimisinéir a cheap Rialtas Tuaiscirt Éireann aon Choimisinéir a cheapfidh an Rialtas Briotáineach amhlaidh agus go mbeidh éifeacht dá réir sin ag na hAirtiogail Chó-aontuithe sin do Chonnra.
NOW it is hereby agreed, subject to the confirmation of this Agreement by the British Parliament and the Oireachtas of the Irish Free State, that, if the Government of Northern Ireland does not before the date of the passing of the Act of the British Parliament or of the Act of the Oireachtas of the Irish Free State confirming this Agreement, whichever is the later date, appoint the Commissioner to be so appointed by that Government, the power of the Government of Northern Ireland to appoint such Commissioner shall thereupon be transferred to and exercised by the British Government, and that for the purposes of the said Article any Commissioner so appointed by the British Government shall be deemed to be a Commissioner appointed by the Government of Northern Ireland and that the said Articles of Agreement for a Treaty shall have effect accordingly.
“(1) I gcás Rialtais aon tíre do bhunú aon chórais ag srianadh no ag rialú iomportála aon tora talmhaíochta áirithe isteach sa tír sin o Shaorstát Éireann no i gcás Rialtais aon tíre do dhéanamh aon chó-aontuithe no socruithe le Rialtas Shaorstáit Éireann tré n-ar ceaduithe no tré n-ar gá méid teoranta d'aon tora talmhaíochta áirithe d'iomportáil isteach sa tír sin o Shaorstát Éireann no tré n-a gcuirtear in usacht aon tora talmhaíochta áirithe d'iomportáil isteach sa tír sin o Shaorstát Éireann féadfaidh an tAire, pé uair agus a mhinicí is doich leis is ceart é, ordú do dhéanamh (dá ngairmtear ordú iomportála san Acht so) chun easportála aon tora talmhaíochta áirithe chun na tíre sin o Shaorstát Éireann do rialáil agus do stiúradh i pé slí chífear do is deallrathach a chuirfidh in áirithe go bhfuighfear an tairbhe is mó lomhálfaidh an córas sriantachta agus rialuithe sin no an có-aontú no an socrú san no is deallrathach a chuirfidh in áirithe go ndéanfar do réir an chó-aontuithe no an tsocruithe sin agus go sonnrách féadfaidh, gan dochar do gheneráltacht na forála san roimhe seo, socrú do dhéanamh, leis an ordú san, i dtaobh gach ní no éinní acu so leanas, sé sin le rá:—
"(1) If the Government of any country establishes any system of restriction or control of the import of any agricultural product into that country from Saorstát Eireann or if the Government of any country has made any agreement or arrangement with the Government of Saorstát Eireann whereby any agricultural Product is permitted or required to be imported to a limited extent into that country from Saorstát Eireann or whereby the import of any agricultural product into that country from Saorstát Eireann is facilitated the Minister may, whenever and so often as he thinks proper, make an order (in this Act referred to as an export order) regulating and controlling the export of any agricultural product to that country from Saorstát Eireann in such manner as appears to him to be calculated to secure the maximum benefit permitted by such system of restriction and control or such agreement or arrangement, or to be calculated to secure compliance with the requirements of such agreement or arrangement, and in particular may, without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing provision, by such order provide for all or any of the following matters, that is to say:—

Articles 3 to 6 of Decision 2007/339/EC of the Council and the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States of the European Union, meeting within the Council, and Articles 2, 3 and 4 of Decision 2010/465/EU of the Council and the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States of the European Union, meeting within the Council, contain provisions on decision-making by the Council with regard to various matters set out in the Agreement, as amended by the Protocol to amend the Air Transport Agreement between the United States of America and the European Community and its Member States, signed on 25 and 30 April 2007, as well as on the establishment of positions to be taken within the Joint Committee and on the information obligations of the Member States, during the provisional application of the Agreement.

A permit issued by the Department of Transport of the United Kingdom or by the Department of the Environment (Northern Ireland) under the agreement made on the 9th day of April, 1980, between the Government and the Government of the United Kingdom on the international carriage of goods by road (being an international agreement relating to international transport by road) shall be deemed to be a restricted road freight licence.
Déantar leis seo na haicmí iompair idirnáisiúnta de bhóthar a shonraítear i míreanna (1) (d) go (1) (j) d'Airteagal 5 den chomhaontú a rinneadh an 9ú lá d'Aibreán, 1980, idir an Rialtas agus Rialtas na Ríochta Aontaithe ar iompar idirnáisiúnta earraí de bhóthar (ar comhaontú idirnáisiúnta é a bhaineann le hiompar idirnáisiúnta de bhóthar), agus atá leagtha amach sa Sceideal a ghabhann leis an Ordú seo, a dhíolmhú ó fhorálacha ailt 9 agus 34 den Acht um Iompar ar Bhóithre, 1934 (arna leasú nó arna leathnú) agus alt 7 den Acht um Iompar ar Bhóithre, 1935 (arna leasú nó arna leathnú).
The classes of international transport by road which are specified in paragraphs (1) (d) to (1) (j) of Article 5 of the agreement made on the 9th day of April, 1980, between the Government and the Government of the United Kingdom on the international carriage of goods by road (being an international agreement relating to international transport by road), and which are set out in the Schedule to this Order, are hereby exempted from the provisions of sections 9 and 34 of the Road Transport Act, 1933 (as amended or extended) and section 7 of the Road Transport Act, 1935 (as amended or extended).

The classes of international transport by road which are specified in paragraphs (a) to (p) of Article 4 of the agreement made on the 19th day of May, 1981, between the Government and the Government of Sweden on the international carriage of goods by road (being an international agreement relating to international transport by road), and which are set out in the Schedule to this Order, are hereby exempted from the provisions of section 7 of the Road Transport Act, 1935 (as amended or extended).

A permit granted by the Minister for Transport and issued by the competent authority of the Italian Republic under the agreement made on the 22nd day of April, 1981, between the Government and the Government of the Italian Republic on the international carriage of goods by road (being an international agreement relating to international transport by road) shall be deemed to be a restricted road freight licence.
