    Le Rialachán (CEE) Uimh. 3730/87 ón gComhairle an 10 Nollaig 1987 lena leagtar síos na rialacha ginearálta maidir le bia a sholáthar ó stoic idirghabhála chuig eagraíochtaí ainmnithe lena dháileadh ar na daoine is díothaí sa Chomhphobal [4], ar Rialachán é a aisghaireadh ina dhiaidh sin agus a ionchorpraíodh i Rialachán (CE) Uimh. 1234/2007 ón gComhairle an 22 Deireadh Fómhair 2007 lena mbunaítear comheagrú na margaí talmhaíochta agus maidir le forálacha sonracha i gcás táirgí áirithe talmhaíochta (an Rialachán maidir le CEM Aonair) [5], tá scéim iontaofa le táirgí bia a dháileadh ar na daoine is díothaí san Aontas (scéim um dháileadh bia) á cur ar fáil le breis agus 20 bliain agus is rannchuidiú tábhachtach é le comhtháthú sóisialta an Aontais trí éagothromaíocht shóisialta agus eacnamaíoch a laghdú.

    Council Regulation (EEC) No 3730/87 of 10 December 1987 laying down the general rules for the supply of food from intervention stocks to designated organisations for distribution to the most deprived persons in the Community [4], which was subsequently repealed and integrated into Council Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007 of 22 October 2007 establishing a common organisation of agricultural markets and on specific provisions for certain agricultural products (Single CMO Regulation) [5], has provided a reliable scheme for the distribution of food products to the most deprived persons of the Union (food distribution scheme) for more than two decades and has positively contributed to the social cohesion of the Union by reducing economic and social disparities.
