Definition "1. fluoride is created when salts from the element fluorine [IATE:1104615] combine with minerals in soil or rocks2.Fluorine (F) is an element of the halogen family, which also includes chlorine, bromine and iodine. It forms inorganic and organic compounds called fluorides. Living organisms are mainly exposed to inorganic fluorides through food and water. Based on quantities released and concentrations present naturally in the environment as well as the effects on living organisms, the most relevant inorganic fluorides are hydrogen fluoride (HF), calcium fluoride (CaF2), sodium fluoride (NaF), sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and silicofluorides" Reference "ChemicalSafetyFacts.org > Fluoride (19.6.2020) and GreenFacts.org> Level 2 > Question 1.1 Which fluorides are most relevant? https://www.greenfacts.org/en/fluoride/fluorides-2/01-use.htm"
Comment Due to its simple origins, fluoride is found naturally in soil, water and many foods. It also occurs naturally in the human body in bones and teeth. It is added to public water systems and toothpastes because it helps in the fight against tooth decay.

Comment "Its boiling point is 19.54°C – the boiling point of the other hydrogen halides is much lower. Below this temperature it is a clear, colourless, corrosive, fuming liquid (known as anhydrous hydrofluoric acid - [ IATE:1001636 ] with an extremely acrid odour. It forms dense white vapour clouds if released.
