International Law Enforcement Academy | ILEA
    en
Definition "This is the official name of the ""académie de police"" (""police academy"") whose headquarters are in Budapest. The Director of the European Law Enforcement College (ELEC) in Brussels says that his college liaises with ILEA in Budapest. ILEA is the result of an initiative taken by the Director of the FBI. After his visit to Central and Eastern Europe in 1994 the American Congress agreed to establish an academy for 2 years, to be funded by Congress. It began operations in 1995, giving 8-week courses to groups of 30 or 40 students. As for ELEC, it has NGO status and is expected to come increasingly under the aegis of the Council of Europe in the next few years." Reference ---
