- Definition A multi-lingual image archiving system, the main objective of which is the validation, storage and exchange, by computerised means and within very short periods of time, of information between document experts in the member states or MS (and Norway, Iceland and Switzerland, as soon as all security prerequisites are met = "MS+") and the GSC (General Secretariat of the Council) in relation to authentic and false travel and identity documents. The central electronic database, which is maintained by the GSC, contains images of typical instances of false and genuine documents with relevant terms and descriptions in all languages, entered by the participating document experts and decided upon electronically Reference Council
