    Comment "Adoption: New York, le 18.12.1990Entrée en vigueur: 1.7.2003Texte: https://treaties.un.org/doc/Treaties/1990/12/19901218%2008-12%20AM/Ch_IV_13p.pdf [29.8.2018]Cette convention formule l'idée fondamentale que tous les migrants doivent avoir droit à un minimum de protection et reconnaît que les migrants en situation régulière ont un droit légitime à davantage de droits que les migrants en situation irrégulière, tout en soulignant que ceux-ci ont droit au respect de leurs droits fondamentaux.Elle propose en outre que des mesures soient prises pour éradiquer les mouvements migratoires clandestins.Jusqu’à présent, les seuls pays à avoir ratifié cette convention sont les pays d'origine de migrants, pour lesquels elle est importante car elle permet de protéger leurs citoyens résidant à l'étranger.Par contre, aucun pays occidental d'immigration (donc aucun Etat de l'UE) ne l'a ratifiée à ce jour, alors que la majorité des migrants vivent en Europe et en Amérique du Nord.Voir aussi:- Comité pour la protection des droits de tous les travailleurs migrants et des membres de leur famille [IATE:3518743 ]"
