Chuaigh Parlaimint na hEorpa níos sia ná togra an Choimisiúin agus ná na conclúidí ón gComhairle Eorpach sa rún uaithi an 5 Feabhra 2014 dar teideal A 2030 framework for climate and energy policies (Creat 2030 do bheartais aeráide agus fuinnimh), agus sa rún uaithi an 23 Meitheamh 2016 dar teideal The renewable energy progress report (Tuarascáil ar dhul chun cinn an fhuinnimh inathnuaite), mar ar chuir sí i dtreis nach móide a bheith níos uaillmhianaí fós i bhfianaise Chomhaontú Pháras agus i bhfianaise an laghdú ar chostas na teicneolaíochta a bhaineann le fuinneamh inathnuaite le tamall anuas.

In its resolutions of 5 February 2014 entitled ‘A 2030 framework for climate and energy policies’ and of 23 June 2016 entitled ‘The renewable energy progress report’, the European Parliament went further than the Commission proposal or the European Council conclusions, stressing that, in light of the Paris Agreement and the recent renewable technology cost reductions, it was desirable to be significantly more ambitious.
