- Comment Thanks to the basket-of-gases approach Parties can select how to make reductions across the six-gas basket of gases to suit their individual circumstances in meeting the quantified emission limitations and reduction obligations set by the Kyoto Protocol. This basket uses the global warming potential (GWP) of carbon dioxide as a base unit, and measures relative warming effects of other gases.
