    Comment In other words, the power set point is the collection of information in the battery that determines the optimal amount of power that it can be charged with. Every battery has a “desired” power range within which it wants to be charged, depending on its state (age, wear, temperature etc). If we think of power as the flow rate of electrons, then too much flow at a given moment, when the battery is cold for example, would negatively affect its state of health and ability to operate further. This information (on optimal power range) is held by the battery’s management system and can be communicated to the charger, so that charging does not exceed what’s “desired” by the battery.
