    Comment Les embryons d'équidés se distinguent de ceux d'autres espèces du fait du mode de formation de la capsule embryonnaire qui commence à se développer sous la zone pellucide vers l'âge de 6,5 jours. Dans le même temps, la zone pellucide s'amincit, voire disparaît vers le huitième jour. La structure de la capsule embryonnaire est donc différente de la zone pellucide et sa capacité à jouer un rôle protecteur vis-à-vis des germes pathogènes n'a pas encore été étudiée.
