    Comment The Government of the Republic of Türkiye notified the United Nations in May 2022 and the Council of the European Union in June 2022 that it would begin using ‘Republic of Türkiye’ as the official name of the country in English and ‘Türkiye’ as a short form, replacing ‘Republic of Turkey’ and ‘Turkey’.
